Even after their shock defeat at the hands of Palermo last time out, Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has insisted his team do not need to ask for forgiveness.
Speaking about Sunday night’s game against Inter, Il Corriere dello Sportreported that he said that belief was their best weapon.
“We are fourth now and there are still many games to go. It has been four years that we have finished in forth place, we just need to find our form again.
“We need to be courageous when we go to Milan, we will have to play brilliantly for 90 minutes, but make no mistake, we are going there to win.
“I know my players, and know they want to start again from this game.”
On the match itself, Prandelli said, “I had an idea in mid-week of moving Felipe Melo further forward in a diamond midfield. Hopefully, with Martin Jorgensen, it will be a more balanced midfield.
“It’s impossible to predict what will happen. The league is proving, week after week, that each game is tough.
He concluded by talking about his opposite number and the Viola fans,
“We will decide at the last minute how to set up the side, also depending on what Jose Mourinho does.
“I was glad we got a warm reception from the fans in midweek [when they played a little friendly] and we were all thankful for the affection they showed us.”
Fiorentina currently sit in fourth place in Serie A, one point ahead of Genoa in fifth and Roma in sixth.
