<>[B]Fiorentina have no intention of selling star striker Luca Toni and have once again dismissed the rumours linking him with an imminent move to Inter.[/B]</P>
<>The Viola insist that there are no plans for a transfer and reiterated the club’s position in an official statement.</P>
<P>“With reference to the continuing rumours surrounding Luca Toni, Fiorentina would like to reaffirm that the player is [B]not for sale[/B],” read the statement on the Viola website.</P>
<P>“Fiorentina will not change their opinion on this, therefore any news that does not correspond with this clear and precise position must be considered untrue.”</P>
<P>[B]Toni has made no secret of his wish to leave Florence to join the Serie A champions in Milan[/B], but there have been contrasting reports in the past few days.</P>
<P>[B]Fiorentina President Diego Della Valle initially locked Toni up[/B], in the belief that he could be an asset for the team which will try to overturn their 19-point deduction next season.</P>
<P>On Monday sporting director Pantaleo Corvino urged Inter to make a significant offer for the forward, stating that [B]an ￡18m offer was necessary[/B] for his club to change their mind.</P>
<P>But it now seems that such [B]a fee would not be considered as enough to force them to sacrifice the World Cup winner.[/B]</P>
<P>However, reports are suggesting that [B]the club’s statement may have a tactical reason[/B], [B]in an effort to get more time to look for an adequate replacement[/B] and try to net as much as possible from Toni’s transfer.</P>
<P>Inter owner Massimo Moratti confirmed yesterday that the player’s proposed move is a complex situation, but that he is still a target.</P>
<P>The Viola forward will return from his holidays on August 7 and will then discuss his future with the club.</P>
