Fiorentina have not given up hope of buying out Parma’s share of Sebastien Frey and have made a final £3.5m offer.

The French goalkeeper has spent this season on loan at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, even though he has been out for much of it following knee ligament surgery in January.

He is still owned by the Gialloblu and there are reports the club has received interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United for the shot-stopper.

The Viola are eager to conclude the deal before the end of the season and newspaper ‘La Repubblica’ claims today that director of sport Pantaleo Corvino has made one final offer.

Parma would receive £3.5m and Frey is set to be handed a four-year contract worth £900,000 per season.

In case the bid does not prove successful, the Stadio Franchi side already has former Ajax goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont – brought in during the January transfer window to replace Frey during his injury – on its books.
