Fiorentina have denied rumours that Luca Toni and Cesare Prandelli will be lured away from the club in the summer.

Toni (pictured) has had a revelatory season for the Gigliati.

With 28 goals already to his name he has broken the club’s season goal scoring record – previously 26 by Kurt Hamrin and Gabriel Batistuta – and has caught the eye of several of Europe’s top clubs.

Like Toni, Prandelli has become one of the most sought after men in Italian football.

The 48-year-old tactician can claim the lion share of responsibility for a magnificent season that has a seen a side looking only to stay up, on the brink of securing Champions League football.

However, President Andrea Della Valle is adamant that neither striker nor Coach will be leaving in the summer.

“I don’t know why these stories emerge at this time of year without any grounds,” stated the shoe baron. “They are absolutely false.”

The Viola President will also have a fight on his hands to secure permanent deals for the three key loan players at the club – Manuel Pasqual, Sebastian Frey and Christian Brocchi.

“We will do everything we can to keep them permanently,” Della Valle promised. “I’m convinced we will be able to keep them.”

A deal for Frey appears to be within sight but the Pasqual saga may prove to be a bitter struggle.

The gifted defender has been on loan at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this season but is also owned by Serie B side Arezzo.

Juventus have entered the race to sign him but there may also be competition from both of the Milan clubs.
