Matteo Brighi and Blerim Dzemaili have put themselves forward as potential replacements for Felipe Melo at Fiorentina.
If the Brazilian midfielder does leave for Juventus or Arsenal in the next few days, then they will need someone to take his place.
“I met with [Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo] Corvino,” revealed Brighi’s agent Vanni Puzzolo on Violanews.com.
“For now the situation with Roma is of disagreement and Florence would be a great club for him to join.
“Matteo has a contract with Roma, but I think we will meet with Corvino again in the next few days.”
Brighi has been irritated with the Giallorossi for several months, as he has not seen his contract renewed or wages adjusted.
This is the clearest indication yet that the former Juventus man is looking to walk away from the Olimpico.
Other alternatives for Fiorentina include Torino’s Dzemaili, who impressed in his debut Serie A season.
Since the Granata were relegated, the Swiss midfielder has gone on the market and is admired by Viola boss Cesare Prandelli.
“The only offers we have received were from English clubs, but we rejected them because we want to keep Dzemaili,” stated Torino director of sport Rino Foschi.
