Shakhtar Donetsk's Romanian coach has addressed recent rumours which have linked Fiorentina's Romanian forward Adrian Mutu with a move to Shakhtar. Lucescu said : "We will not sign Mutu. I like him, but the Ukrainian football federation's new rule for next season states that five players over a total of eleven must be from Ukraine. Therefore, I would not have any place left for a foreign player like Mutu".

Fiorentina GM Pantaleo Corvino is in Latin America and says : "I have scouted several players in Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil. It is a long tour, but it is worth it. Despite the rumours, I am not looking to sign any defenders. There aren't great or affordable defenders in Latin America now. I am more interested in midfielders and forwards".

We have contacted Dalibor Lacina (the agent of Atletico Madrid and former Fiorentina centre-back Tomas Ujfalusi). Lacina said : "Ujfalusi still has two more years left in his contract with Atletico Madrid. There is a chance that he could return to Fiorentina in 2011. He is very attached to Florence, was happy there and wishes to play for Fiorentina again".
