<><FONT size=3>It was a very busy Wednesday for the national sides. Four ACF Fiorentina players were involved with their respective countries. Ujfalusi, Jorgensen, Chiellini and Miccoli did well in their respective matches. Ujfalusi’s Czech Republic won 2-0 in Macedonia for the 2006 World Cup Qualifier Group 1 game. Also Martin Jorgensen’s Denmark played a qualifier match, but the team coached by Olsen picked up just one point in Georgia by drawing 2-2 thanks to a brace by Milan’s Tomasson.

There is a lot of ‘Viola’ in the Azzurri’s 1-0 win over Finland. The winning goal was scored by Fabrizio Miccoli who netted in the 33rd minute a direct free kick to award Italy with the victory. In the second half, great intensity by Giorgio Chiellini who convinced everyone (the lowest rating in today’s newspaper was 7) and especially the national team coach Marcello Lippi who declared at the end of the game, in a semi-serious tone “Gentile (Italy Under-21 coach) can forget him…” </FONT></P></DIV>
