Now, although Tonigol has only ever had nice things to say about his time in Sicily, he is looking forward to putting one over on his previous employers, whose owner Maurizio Zamparini has publicly stated his regret at selling his former favourite on several occasions.

"There’s no point in hiding it," said Toni. "alermo will be a special match for me. I had a great time in Sicily, but I’m hoping to score on Wednesday and if I do I will definitely celebrate. I don’t see anything wrong with it.

"I’m pleased that Zamparini regrets letting me go," he added. "It means that I am doing well."

That is something of an understatement to say the least. Having said that, the Viola striker has not scored now for three games which, by his standards, constitutes a crisis.

"At the moment I’m hitting the post a bit too often," explained the man with the elusive Midas touch. </FONT>
