Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo admits he had high hopes going into the second leg of Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter considering his side's performance against the Nerazzurri in the league.
The midfielder thought his side had a chance of winning...But the Italy international is disappointed with the final outcome, suffering a 1-0 defeat and 2-0 loss on aggregate.

"In the dressing room, we were all down because in the first half, we could have scored, but were unable to finish off our chances," the 25-year-old to TMW after the match. "Then, the goal we conceded took away any hope we had.

Montolivo was also asked whether he thought the season had been a failure compared to the high standard the Viola set themselves.
