Cesare Prandelli admits Fiorentina are on a learning curve and that these setbacks will serve them well in the future.
The Viola were leading Bayern Munich through Adrian Mutu's goal, but conceded from Tim Borowski late on.
“There was a bit of bad luck, lack of organisation. In that period of the match we were tired and leading, so we should have been more organised.
“It's a shame, as I think we played a fine game and came close to doubling our advantage at least twice. This is our path with players who need to gain experience and we will continue our work.
“We used up a lot of energy doubling up on their players and keeping the team tight. This is why at that stage we should've been more organised to make up for the lack of pace.
“When facing great clubs if you sit back then that makes you vulnerable. We made Bayern run and kept them busy, unfortunately we didn't manage it for the entire 90 minutes.”
Fiorentina have failed to win a single game in the group phase of the Champions League and their chances of qualifying are now extremely slim.
They have three points compared to Lyon and Bayern Munich on eight, so must battle Steaua Bucharest for the third spot valid for the UEFA Cup.
“The important thing is to step on to the field with this spirit and the desire to win. We have many young players in this competition for the first time and naturally there's bound to be a little fear, but after games like this they can see their limitations can be pushed and ambitions raised.”
