Fiorentina captain Dario Dainelli was pleased with his side’s efforts against Bayern Munich last night, but disappointed in that they could not make the most of their early advantage.
La Viola drew their third Champions League match for the campaign, and now they find themselves in an unsettled position, as they have just three points from four matches, and face an uphill battle to qualify for the next phase of the competition.
With just two rounds of matches remaining, Cesare Prandelli’s men host Lyon in three weeks time, before a trip to Steaua to see out the group stage.
In an interview with Radio Blu after last night’s match, Fiorentina captain Dario Dainelli addressed an issue that he feels the club must attend to, if they wish to be a force in this competition in the future.
“We played some great football tonight, and we definitely have come along way. We’ve had some luck as well, but we’ve failed to make the most of any advantage we get,” said the captain.
“I will admit however that we do lack experience in our squad, and this is crucial to success in the Champions League.
“Instead of signing new players, our only solution is to play more matches at this level,” he added.
“In this game, we were determined and gave it our all, so I don’t think that we could have done any better.”
